ideation + prototyping: constant output week 5

for this weeks constant output, i started to shift my focus to working/experimenting with samples more. i began to listen to video games soundtracks and came across this track from tekken 7. i immediately knew i had to sample that little beginning part because it’s just so smooth. i did some drum programming over it with bells and took parts from the sample and put it over the outro.

i’ve found lately that i enjoy making music the most when i’m sampling things, because it’s more satisfying to hear how i can manipulate a certain part of a song to shift it into something completely different. also, it allows me to make the instrumentals quicker, which makes the 30 min challenge much more do-able! therefore, i can focus more on the drums and how the song flows instead of worrying too much about the melody.
